Flight updates sent directly to your mobile

An innovative text message service, called Flight Tracker, is to undergo a six-month trial, reports eyefortravel.com.

"Launched by British Airways, this original service allows customers to receive the latest information on the status of their flight while on the move.

Customers are simply required to text “track” followed by their flight number to a designated number (80747), and they will receive real time flight departure, arrival and disruption information taken directly from the British Airways website ba.com.

Flight Tracker is available to any customer on a British Airways operated flight with a UK registered mobile phone. The service is not only available to passengers - friends, family members and associates can also take advantage of the service, thus avoiding lengthy waits at the airport."
