Teenagers reach out by SMS
The pioneering adults of Textari-Helppi, Finland, are a group of volunteers lending a sympathetic ear or, as it were, eye to troubled teenagers - by text messaging, reports Virtual Finland.
"The service was launched in the town of Lahti three years ago, and the results were so encouraging the service is expanding to other areas.
The service promises an answer within 24 hours, except on weekends. During on-duty hours in the evenings an answer may arrive somewhat faster."
