Indonesian police receiving daily bomb threats via text messaging
Indonesian police hunting the men believed to be behind the Australian embassy bombing on September 9th say they have since received a steady stream of bomb threats or warnings by text messaging, reports ABC Radio Australia.
"The Jakarta Police Chief Firman Gani said ten to fifteen SMS bomb threats were received each day.
Mr Gani said one threat, which began circulating two days ago, warned of three car bomb attacks on targets including places of worship and shopping malls.
The messages carried details of vehicle registration numbers and the timing and targets of the purported attacks.
Police have arrested several suspects for the embassy blast which killed nine people.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard initially said that Indonesian police received an SMS warning of the attack, but officials later said there was no confirmation of this."
