MOBILES 'LINKED TO TEEN SEX
Children with mobile phones have sex earlier - and more often - than phoneless friends, reports the UK The Mirror via Smart Mobs.
"According to Professor Willy Pederse" mobiles had a substantial influence" on sexual behaviour. We can attribute the early sexual encounters directly to the use of mobile phones," he added.
A team from the University of Oslo in Norway studied 10,000 youngsters aged 13 to 18 and found flirting with SMS messages and the "speedy contact" of mobiles led to closer and more frequent encounters.
Around 60 per cent of teenagers who use mobiles a lot had sex. Only eight to nine per cent who seldom or never use mobiles, had sex.
The team found kids as young as 13 with mobiles were having full sex."
