DoCoMo Cellular Handset Doubles As Office Extension Phone

NTT DoCoMo plans to beat its rivals and release this summer a 3G cellular phone that also functions as an internal extension phone in the office, according to Mobile Media Japan.

"DoCoMo believes that cell phones will find more demand among companies in the future. Fully deploying the cell phone would make it possible to eliminate the use of fixed-line phones in the office".

In a related office/cell phone story posted earlier today, Loose Wire reports on GSM phones that masquerade as desktop phones for office use - and are not meant to be taken out of the building - for countries where landlines are scarce.
