SMS contests a gamble? Muslim groups bet they are

The increasingly popular SMS contests are the subject of a public debate and study by the Islamic religious authorities in Kuala Lumpur, to determine if taking part in such competitions is prohibited by Islam, reports Asia's Straits Times.

"If these contests are deemed to be gambling, it could kill a lucrative business."
