Safe scheme for cabs

londoncab.jpg A new text messaging scheme is being launched to prevent assaults and rape in London cabs, reports the Walthan Forest.

A company called Hail-Safe has developed a system that allows passengers to register details of the cab they are travelling in and the licence number of the driver.

How does it work?

1. Text in SAFE or safe followed by a space and then your cab licence number.

2. Send this message to 88800

3. Your message will log on our Server, along with your mobile number and the date and time of your text.

4. You will receive a confirmation text back from us.
