SMS threatens Norwegian language say teachers

Norwegian teachers are concerned that text messaging is hurting the Norwegian language, according to a sociologist's recent survey of their attitudes and reported by DMeurope.

"Some 50 per cent of the teachers surveyed on the effect of mobiles in schools, said that the use of abbreviations, English and slang in text messaging is affecting pupils' written work".
