In India, cell phones indispensable to modern life

The telecom phone revolution has greatly influenced the lifestyle of people with mobile phones becomings an indispensable part of modern life, according to Mobile Lifestyle study conducted by Siemens Mobile, reports deepikaglobal.com.

"People consider their phone to be a technology extension of their personality:

-- 67 per cent female mobile phone users feel that their mobile phone allowed them to express themselves better.

-- 68 per cent stated that chasing after the newest models is an essential way of keeping up with the trend.

-- 70 per cent of people in the country had confessed that they pick up their phone wherever they are.

-- 63 per cent of people have to go back home if they forget their mobile phone.

-- almost 50 per cent of us will begin to constantly check our mobile phone if they don't receive an SMS or call for a long time.

The survey was conducted across 9 countries -- China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong and India.
