Car sends SMS message at accident

In case of a car crash, vehicules will be equipped to automatically send a text message to an emergency number, reports Telecom.paper (pay per view).

"With a sim card and sensors, the car measures in amount of damage and the speed reduction. The GPS system will indicate where the accident has occured.

By the middle of next year, all car manufacturers will have to implement this innovation, the European Commission decided. The Dutch ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police (KLPD) and the repair branch organisation FOCWA are involved".
