Reporting on bail by sending SMS

In a drug case wideley reported by the Australian press, it turns out the star witness of the case was released on bail provided he keep in touch with authorities via text messages and e-mails.

"Police had given him permission to go interstate because of fears for his safety and allowed him to report on bail by sending SMS messages." More details in the Sunday Times.
