President says she uses textmessaging to run gov't

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo admitted to Malacaņang reporters that she used text messaging to run the government, according to inq7.net.

"In fact, the President said she sometimes got reports from the National Security Council through text messages except for important matters when she would call on the telephone to ensure that confidentiality was not violated".

In a previous post on Textually, it was reported that "Text messaging is such an accepted form of communication in the Philippines, that central bank Governor Rafael Buenaventura sends comments on interest rates or the level of the peso to reporters via SMS".
