Answering Call for Phone Tickets

I am pretty sure this is not the first company to offer tickets through cell phones...Canada-based RepeatSeat is tying with fellow ticketing firm U.K.-based Mobiqa, to offer the service to North American patrons, as early as May.

Customers can order tickets by either phoning a RepeatSeat client's box office or logging on to the venue's Web site. Within 30 seconds of completing the order, the customer receives a bar-code-encrypted ticket on his or her cell phone. At the venue, scanners read the ticket through the phone's screen. The company will charge a convenience fee of $1 per cell ticket.
