China's Haier to bring phones to U.S.

A division of Haier Group, a Chinese manufacturer that has burst onto the U.S. market over the past few years with home appliances, plans to introduce three mobile phones to the U.S. through a major carrier in the second half of this year, executives said at the CTIA Wireless trade show this week, according to IDG.

Chinese manufacturers taking over the cell phone market down the road is actually a legitimate concern. cf China's 60 percent cell phones to be exported in 2004.
