Cell phone as lifesavers
Along the lines "there's more to a cell phone than meets the eye", News.com Australia reports that the glow of a mobile phone screen has led to a remarkable rescue in the Tasmanian bush.
"A Hobart man, lost in dense bush at Hastings, south of Hobart, was facing his second night in cold conditions when he "flagged down" a search helicopter with the light from his mobile phone".
I remember the first time I used my cell phone as a flashlight, it was last summer when my son and I hesited to run the 200 meters from his grandparents house to ours, on a dark starless night. "Just use your cell phone" he said at 13. Kids are just so smart.
