Gizmoblog war

More gossip on Engadget vs Gizmodo. Apparently Nick Denton, in Brazil at the time, was unaware that Peter Rojas was leaving Gizmodo to create Engadget with Jason Calacanis. He thought he was just leaving. (cf Gizmodo editorial changes).

As Calacanis — the former Silicon Alley Reporter guru turned “talent advocate”— declares to New York Magazine, “You can't say ‘Work with me for as little as possible; I'll build a valuable brand you won't have a share in.' In essence, Nick wants to own all of it, so his writers are leaving.” And right they are.
