Coalition looks to modern communications to fight terror in Iraq

The US-led coalition is developing a new tool in its "war on terror" in Iraq - a modern communications network including mobile phones and special radio devices for emergency services, reports the AFP.

"Mobile networks will directly lead to an improvement in the security of this country," Dan Sudnick, the coalition's senior advisor to the ministry, told a news conference.

"People with mobile phones would be able to contact police if they saw anything suspicious, and emergency services would be able to respond faster", he said.
