Teens secretly txt their problems to nurse
A pilot scheme at Cardigan Secondary School in Great Britan uses text messaging to help pupils through their troubled teenage years, by giving advice by SMS, according to ICWales.
The school children are able to text the school nurses questions too embarrassing to ask face to face, such as sexual worries, pregnancy, bullying and acne.
In 2002, a sort of similar idea was launched by doctors in Melbourne, Singapore and Amsterdam who offered a sex education service by SMS. For a period of 10 days, teenagers could text in all their questions with regard to pregnancy, AIDS, and prevention. [ expired link on 24hNews.co]
