Rapist's messages led to conviction

A rapist's text messages by mobile phone led to his conviction, despite the victim's inability to remember the incident because she was out cold, according to Norway's Aftenposten.

"The woman went to the police two days after the drunken party and filed charges, using the SMS as evidence. The man had sent her text messages the following days apologizing, due to an uneasy conscience.

The man was sentenced to 18 months in prison, six months of this suspended, and fined $ 15,000 plus court costs.
