Rugby Triumph Prompts Text Message Explosion
Around 18 million more text messages than normal were sent on the day England clinched victory against Australia in the Rugby World Cup final, an industry body announced today, reports Ananova.
The Mobile Data Association said 76 million texts were sent on November 22 compared with a daily average of 58 million in October.
The figures makes it this year's third busiest day for texting in the UK after New Year's Day, with 100 million messages, and Valentine's Day with 78 million.
