Operators prepare to launch fixed-line MMS

According to Telecom Markets, several leading telecom carriers are planning to launch fixed-line MMS services in 2004. The carriers are looking to build on the success of mobile messaging and fixed SMS services, reports Telecom.paper.

SMS services exist already on landline phones in some countries, France Telecom has signed up 200,000 customers for its Mini Message fixed SMS service and Deutsche Telekom now carries 4 million fixed SMS messages per month.
