Oslo Police Send SMS To Check Youth Violence

The Oslo police in Norway have embarked on a unique way to reduce violence and are using SMS services to kick start its campaign, reports Mobile Commerce World.

The police service have sent more than 15,000 SMS text messages to young adults' mobile phones at the weekend to kick off a campaign against violence.

The text of SMS sent out: "You who are young and who plan to go out tonight, don't become the victim of a pickpocket or assault. Be careful, mind your wallet, your mobile phone and your friends. Cheers. The Oslo Police."
