Oracle, Vodafone to Unveil Plan For Wireless Access to Systems

Oracle and Vodafone plan to announce Tuesday new software and commercial links that will allow customers to access corporate computer systems easily using their mobile phones and other wireless devices, according to the WSJ.

"The linkup would let a worker in the field, for example, query a company database by sending a text message from his cellphone. These services have been possible before but required a technical configuration that Oracle acknowledges was too arduous for most customers. Some Oracle rivals offer similar capabilities".
