Teach To Text
SMS: Business Gets the Messsage reports on an evangelistic operation by mobile operator 02 called «Teach To Text».
O2 is offering its customers the chance to become a teacher and earn free call time. Teachers can register up to 5 people who don't know how to send texts and can then earn 5p of free calltime for each text message the 'Pupil' sends".
It's an interesting concept (for all parties) but surprising, as the general perception is that the UK is so SMS-Savvy you wouldn't think they needed coaxing to text.
Another campaing launched recently, «Teach UR Mum 2 Txt», aiming to make parents more text proficien and aid better communication with their children. cf «T 'Teach UR Mum 2 Txt' campaign »
