SAT-Word-A-Day

According to Channel News Asia, a new SMS-based educational service has been launched to benefit SAT takers. The service is being provided by Times Educational Services and SingTel mobile operator.

For $ 3.- a month, by dialing *441, Sing Tel mobile customers will receive an English word with its vocabulary definition via SMS on their cell phones every morning.

"Called SAT-Word-A-Day, the providers hope that it will benefit the approximately 100,000 students who might take the SAT in Singapore every year. "

maori.gif I remember last year reading about a New Zealand company offering to teach Maori by text message. Each day subscribers could sign up to receive a Maori word and it's English translation with the exact pronunciation.
