Swelling dating club rings money bells for cellcos
In India, virtual mobile dating is proving to be as appealing to subscribers as to mobile phone operators, reports the Economic Times.
"Mobile dating services, followed by ringtones have not only emerged the most popular SMS applications in India, but are big revenue generators too, increasing revenues by up to 80%.
[...] Contrary to conventional wisdom, despite the majority of users being under 25, more than 50% of revenue comes from users over 25 years of age, with those over 30 representing the most profitable user group.
