Sprint Says Push-To-Talk Launch Possible This Year
Following a post October 2, Sprint Explores Walkie-Talkie Service, an article in Telecom Web reiterates that Sprint intends to launch its push-to-talk service before the end of this year's fourth quarter.
"The company added that it is in talks with several national partners to introduce push-to-talk products and that it intends to launch multiple devices in conjunction with several manufacturers".
And interesting, an article in Business Week, Push-to-Talk: Nextel Is Still the One to Beat, by Stephen H. Wildstrom, on how everyone wants a piece of the walkie-talkie action.
Wildstrom's opinion is that newly launched Verizon's PTT and fastmobile's offerings so far, are nowhere near as good as Nextel's.
