French TV Canal Plus allows for recharding cell phone cards through TV

Looking in my French archives for story on the the wind-up mobile charger for Motorola, I fell on this interesting feature offered by French television station, Canal Plus.

Everyday between 6 pm and 10pm, on channel 156, viewers and mobile subscribers to operator SFR can chose the amount to be credited onto their phone card which will then be confirmed by SMS. To pay, the viewer must insert his credit card in the Canal Plus set up box which is hooked to a phone line.
