Gain New Readers Through Mobile-Phone Services
There were an estimated 6,700 new newspaper subscriptions via mobile phones from August 1999 through July 2003, reports Steve Outing in E-Media Tidbits: "At least some newspapers finally seem to be getting the message that they have to adapt to the behavior of their readers -- if not of their current ones, then at least their future readers (if they want to have any) -- and try some really new ideas".
More information about newspapers' mobile strategies and the conference is available from WAN's website .
Note from Emily I've opened a new category, where I try and keep track of SMS Services offered by the Press.
