LUFTHANSA to launch ticket auction on mobile SMS

Airlines companies seem to be coming up with new text messaging services everyday. After offering SMS services inflight, booking and flight information available, now German carrier Lufthansa has announced its first-ever live ticket auction in India next week through mobile SMS to various destinations in Europe and North America, including New York, London and Frankfurt.

The participants would be required to SMS 'LUFT' to short code 8558 on September 25 to take part in the auction, leading to a series of interactive SMS messages on further steps, according to the Hindustan Times.
