"SMS this article to a friend"
If you go to ITWeb, South Africa's largest technology portal and read any of their articles, you will notice on the bottom of the page several options: "Send to a Friend", "Print", "Post a Comment" ... and "Send SMS".
This is technology provided by a South African mobile solutions company, Clickatell, which has offered this service to a number of content providers successfully.
Clickatell was one of the first companies I wrote about in 2000, at the time they offered webmasters the option of downloading software, enabling their viewers to send text messages directly from their websites. Today Clickatell offers webmasters the option of reselling their "SMS Messenger Product", branded to the look and feel of their company. The webmaster or company takes 7% commission on each SMS sent, i.e. see South Africa's largest search engine Ananzi.
They also offer Free Desktop SMS Software, allowing PC users to send text messages directly from their computer. Only paying for each SMS sent.
A very interesting company with many other wonderful products. Take a look!
