Parents and Teachers Communicate through SMS

In New Dehli, Mobile Mantra, a local messaging solution company has developed software for parents and teachers to keep in touch through Text Messaging. In a bid for transparency, it enables school authorities to communicate with parents at all times, regarding details of students progress, school bus delays, absences and notices such as fee payment dates, according to Dehli Newsline.

In a related story, two Irish schools are conducting a text experience as a disuasive way for skipping class. A database records the names of absent students each day and automatically sends out an SMS to their parents, notifying them that their child missed roll-call. cf Parents alerted by SMS when children skip school .
