Cellphone-handset sales rose 12% world-wide last quarter. Nokia remained the market leader.

After two years of stagnation, sales of cellphone handsets world-wide rose 12% in the second quarter of 2003 amid growth in Asia, Latin America and developing markets in Central and Eastern Europe, according to research firm Gartner Inc, reports the WSJ. The research company predicts unit sales of more than 450 million this year.
