Texting frees Dutch kidnap victim
Dutch police freed a Canadian woman kidnapped in the Netherlands when she texted a call for help to a friend, according to this AP story:
"'After receiving the message the friend went to the Canadian police who in turn informed international police organisation Interpol (and they) sent a fax to the police on Monday,' said Carel Bouman, spokesman for police in the southern Dutch town of Tilburg.
The police went to the man's address and found the 36-year-old Canadian woman. She said she had been held against her will for a month by a 42-year-old Dutchman she met via the Internet."
