UAE mobile users hit with spam

Hundreds of mobile phone users in the UAE have complained of nuisance text messages sent by companies promising logos, competitions, ringtones and pictures. The unsolicited messages have been received up to three times a day by some annoyed consumers, and at any time of the day or night, according to the Gulf News. Angry customers are demanding of wireless operator Etisalat to explain how their private numbers have arrived in the hands of companies hawking their services and to stop the problem.
