Carriers prepare for SMS surge from school exam results
UK Mobile carrier mm02 expects record SMS volume today when British students text each other to compare A-level exam results:
"Rampant growth in the use of short message service (SMS) texts has slowed, and heavy texting is now led by special events and holidays. New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day see similar spikes in the number of texts sent." [ZDNet]
