SMS on landlines in India
India's state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) telecom provider will soon offer SMS via conventional landline to increase the utility of conventional phone networks. According to this Times of India story, all of the country's providers will soon be offering text messaging services via landline in the near future, along with other data services. In other words, the message to India's consumers is "don't ditch your wired phone just yet." Link to Story
