Australian airline plans SMS check-in service
Virgin Blue has plans to launch an SMS service that will allow customers to check in using their mobile phones. The service works by sending a barcode containing reservation details to a customer's mobile phone which would be scanned at check-in. Customers will also be able to receive their itinerary via SMS. In a related travel made easier by SMS story, The Paris Aeroports (Orly and Charles de Gaulle) launched an SMS premium service allowing for passengers to check out flight information in real time. cf Aero SMS at Paris Airports.
