Shazam expands across Europe
Name-that-tune music company Shazam Entertainment is continuing its aggressive roll out, inking deals with mobile operators in Austria, Italy and Finland to expand its reach further into Europe, reports Netimperative.
Shazam offers a commercial music-recognition technology allowing people to identify tunes heard on the radio by simply approaching their cell phone to the speaker. Within a few minutes, they receive an SMS naming the artist and the title of the song. For more insight on Shazam's technology, Scientific American published an interesting article in June.
