Texting from the friendly skies
Qantas airline passengers will soon be able to exchange SMS messages with people on the ground. Handsets to transmit or receive SMS text will be installed from September in Qantas 747-400 seats including those in economy class, flying from Melbourne to London, Los Angeles and Singapore. According to The Age, via SMS: Business Gets the Message. And this news comes just as The New York Times reports on Continental Airlines and United Airlines installing in-flight e-Mail. Things are looking up!
