Text messages vs greeting cards
In the UK, more than eight out of ten people under the age of 25 are more likely to send someone a text message than call. But just 14% of those aged over 55 said they preferred to text, according to a news study by mobile phone insurer CPP, reports the BBC.
The Greeting Card Association claims that texting has not hurt their business, as for special occasions, young people are more inclined to send a card. Wishful thinking ? Has the postcard business not been hurt by e-mail and Cybercafés?
