1.5 billion messages were sent in the UK in April
April text figures mark the sixth consecutive month that over 1.5 billion messages were sent in the UK, according to figures released today by the Mobile Data Association, via 160characters.org.
The total number of chargeable person-to-person text messages sent across the four UK GSM networks in April 2003 totalled 1.66 billion, taking the cumulative annual total to 6.5 billion for 2003.
April's figure takes the daily average to 55 million compared to 44 million in April 2002 and 30 million in April 2001.
