Uproar over "Texting" class

A new course on mobile phone text messaging in the UK, for those who «WAN2TLK» is creating an uproar by critics who claim it's a waste of tax payers' money, according to an article in Express Standard. The class on textual expression, ringtones and logos, features and issues surrounding picture phones is being offered under a £14 million adult education scheme launched by The West Midlands Learning Skills Council.

The course will start on May 14 at the Collingwood Drive centre.

question.jpg Here in the French speaking part of Switzerland, a half day class on SMS is part of the curriculum -- for the second year in a row -- of the "Swiss Institute of Public Relations". No outrage so far, but then again it's not government funded. Actually it's my beat and I always start off the class with the following question : "What segment of the population uses/needs SMS the most ?". There is really only one correct answer. If you want to try your hand at this riddle, send an e-mail to emily@netsurf.ch or post your answer by clicking on "comment". Winner gets a free subscription to textually.org.
