roofworld.jpg In order to promote SMS and MMS, China Mobile, Motorola and Sohu (a content provider) have pooled their knowledge to allow for the sending of text and picture messages during an expedition up the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest.

It's the second attempt to bring an end to one of the last infosphere sanctuaries', as in Nepal, Sherpa Tenzing Norgay's grandson -- he was part of the first successfull ascension of the Everest in May 1953 --, has opened one of the world's highest internet cafes at 5'300 meters, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mission.
