False rumors that Cardinal Sin had died spread by SMS


Cardinal Jaime Sin, the archbishop of Manila, who helped oust two Philippine presidents over alleged corruption, was taken to the hospital on Sunday after he collapsed while performing mass. According to his spokesman, Bishop Socrates Villegas, the Cardinal was in stable condition and was undergoing a series of tests.

Wishes of well getting flooded the networks and false rumors that Sin had died spread through cell phone text messages, reaching as far as the large Filipino community in Hong Kong, according to an article in abs-cbnnews
