E-Mail and Texting - Not at all bad
A new report, by a research team in the Netherlands, is challenging the belief that e-mail and text messaging only have a negative impact on writing skills, reports Canada.com.
"Kids keen to save time and keystrokes might resort to informal language, including poor grammar and spelling, but e-mail's hybrid nature -- combining talking and writing -- also has benefits, says lead researcher Bregje de Vries of the University of Twente.
The findings of the study will be published in a forthcoming edition of the International Journal of Educational Research."
