Italian opposition wins decisive vote thanks to SMS
According to an article in Italian La Repubblica, the opposition party won a decisive vote yesterday with a strategic call for voters - by sms.
"Come and vote at 4 p.m. sharp. Your presence is mandatory", read a text message signed by Antonio Boccia, deputy of the Partito popolare. With this text message, the opposition triggered a trap/trick/ that defeated the government on the first vote of the amendment of the financial law article.
The 50 messages sent by Antonio Bocciato were to the deputies of the centre-left
party which were seated in the relax room - so as not to draw attention to the majority seated in the centre of the Parliament hall. The text messages incited Bocciato's to come together right at the moment of the vote.
