SMS technology helps parents keep track of children
A new web and mobile phone service called ChildLocate.co.uk has been launched to help parents keep an eye on kids from a distance, reports Netimperative.
"The subscription-based service works with all mobile phones on any of the following operators: Vodafone, 02, T-Mobile and Orange and claims to be the first of its kind in the UK, allowing parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children without needing to constantly pester them with phone calls.
Operated by Newbury-based MobileLocate, ChildLocate uses location-based technology to identify where children are and is accurate from between 50 and 500 metres. It works best in urban areas
Parents can access information via the childlocate website and the system uses SMS signals to determine the child's location".
