Marijuana mobile phone stirs controversy at CeBIT

CeBIT Australia kicked off on Tuesday with more than 400 businesses and distributors showing off the latest gadgets and The Straits Times reviews the highlights. This one caught my eye: "The fair also had its share of controversy when an Australian company displayed a mobile phone cover featuring a picture of a marijuana plant; it's supposed to smell like the drug as well. The product had to go eventually".

This reminds me of Snifferdog.com, a sniffer dog text message alert service offered in Australia (no longer online), written up in Ananova last May, inviting New South Wales residents to sign up for SMS tip-offs, warning them of the location of dog teams used to crack down on drugs and illegal handguns. The local Police Department didn't think that was funny either.
