Warner Music, SK Telecom in S.Korea music venture

Warner Music Group and South Korea's top wireless operator, SK Telecom, are setting up a joint venture to sell music for mobile phones and digital music players, according to Reuters.

... "From Warner's point of view, this is another step in securing digital delivery channels. Korea is a big music market on its own, and this could help them get a better sense of how to offer their content to phone operators," said Lee Shihoon, an analyst at Hyundai Securities.

"Korea is a market where MP3 phones are commonplace, so competition is about what content operators can deliver. SK could try to secure more deals with other international music majors."
